What makes it even more special, is that you guys stepped in with only a few days notice, never meeting us or having visited Mells. INCREDIBLE. We hope you have been back to Mells, it is such a special place. Seriously we couldn’t have asked for two nicer people to take part in our day, so glad you managed to squeeze us in. All our friends commented on how you just blended in, and made such an effort.
We can’t stop looking at the pics, all 600 odd of them!!
You really did capture the day in every way we wanted, opportune moments and emotion with family and friends.

Beautiful, exquisite, superb, original, exactly what we asked for!!! We cannot express in words just how thrilled we are that we chose How Photography to capture our wedding at Gants Mill last year. Both Russ and Laura were fantastic from day one! We met prior to the wedding and discussed my fussy tastes. I bored them with inspiration of photos that I liked and even showed them photos of Matt and I that we hated (so vain). My husband really dislikes the fuss of having a photo taken yet with Russ and Laura he couldn’t have felt more at ease. On the day of our Wedding, Laura and Russ were so organised that we barely knew they were around yet the photos show that they were at every corner snapping photos that we weren’t aware of as well as capturing those which we’d requested in advance. We of course asked for the occasional private shoots and I didn’t know that they could be such fun! We made great use of both Laura and Russ’ style and we couldn’t be happier with the results. We continue to recommend How Photography to all of our friends and hope that one day soon we can arrange another shoot together. Thank you both once again x

We decided fairly early on that quality photographers were important to us for our big day and we needed to budget accordingly. And boy oh boy it was worth it.
Despite possibly some odd requests of what we wanted to see from Rus and Laura for our Black Tie themed wedding they both grasped the opportunity to do something out of the norm, research and really work with us to achieve exactly what we – the clients – wanted. Nothing was too much of an ask.
The end result, the vast collection of photos that How Photography gave us were so perfect that they instantly (and still do) stir such emotion every time I look at them – which is often. Somehow they managed to capture personalities of friends and family that they could not have possibly known about, true talent in seeing a moment and and shooting it that instant, beautifully, because it might just mean something to us…
We have had so many compliments from guests that have seen some of our wedding pictures; how they didn’t even notice the photographers, how unobtrusive they were and how incredible the results are.
Those photos are so precious to me, they bought tears to my eyes, amazement and laughter when I looked at them. I still haven’t created an official ‘album’ as I cant bear to cut them down to just a small collection, they are all so relevant to the feel of that amazing day.
I cannot thank Rus and Laura enough for what they gave to us, if you have any pre-booking doubts of their worth, then think again, you will not regret it.

Cant say enough good things about these guys. The photos they took for us were spectacular! Russ & Laura perfectly captured the atmosphere and feel of our wedding with some superb photography work. They were also great to work with – they met with us before hand for a lovely (and very reassuring) chat, came and visited both the church & reception site, and then on the day blended into the guests so well everyone thought they must be friends of ours! So warm and professional, and just so talented. Everyone has commented on the photos, they’re fabulous and somehow everyone looks gorgeous (rather than the tipsy sweaty dancing bunch we were!) – we’re delighted! Fantastic wedding photography team! Russ and Laura came along to shoot our wedding day on a Bristol farm in spring. We met up with Russ a few weeks before the wedding and knew immediately that he would do a fab job. He was totally in tune with what we loved about our venue and how best to bring the most of it out in our pics. He was so easy to get along with and they both felt like an extra couple of friends on the day – sharing or big day. They handled our large mob of family and friends with patience, humour and courtesy through the whole day and evening. We researched photographers in the area very thoroughly and feel so lucky to have found Russ and Laura, and at such competitive prices too! The finished product is a set of wedding pics that are better than we ever could have expected. From the bride’s make-up session and lads’ button-hole struggles, through the ceremony, drinks reception by the pond, right down to the first dance and jiving that followed, they captured the essence of our day beautifully. We couldn’t be happier and whole-heatedly recommend them to anyone planning their special day.

Russ and Laura photographed our wedding in May and we were delighted with the whole service that they provided from beginning to end! We felt that they really listened to what we wanted and were very accommodating and enthusiastic about our suggestions. On the day they were friendly and polite to our guests, very organised and professional and managed to melt into the background so did not disrupt the day at all! The end results were absolutely perfect and fitted the description of what we wanted so well, not only being beautiful photographs but really capturing the mood of the day. We both feel that Russ and Laura offered excellent value for money and would highly recommend them!

We genuinely could not be more thrilled with the photographs that we got from Russell and Laura. We were having a fairly low budget wedding and had decided to ask a few friends to take photographs as we didn’t want lots of posed shots and really wanted to concentrate on enjoying the day. This was until our best man showed us the photographs from his sister’s wedding that were taken by Russell and we instantly decided it was worth the investment and having them now I would have paid twice over (sorry Russell, shouldn’t tell you that now!!). From the outset Russell seemed as excited about our wedding as we were and his emails were brimming with enthusiasm and ideas that complimented everything that we wanted. We spent a day with Russell before the wedding talking through the day and our wishes and he helped guide us through decisions and options whilst really making the day come alive and seem real! He visited all of our venues leading up to the day (and we had a few!) and we were so excited when they arrived at an unspeakable hour in the morning to take photos of us getting ready. As someone else has commented Russell and Laura have the amazing ability to organise and command when necessary but since we only wanted a few formal shots most of the time, amazingly given the pictures, we didn’t really know they were there! We got the photos back 3 weeks after our wedding, giving us time to arrive back from honeymoon and see some of our friends and families shots…. and then we got Russell’s through. I had an email today from a friend in response to seeing them on Facebook and I couldn’t sum it up better than her (and I’m bias since it was my wedding). The email was entitled ‘amaaaaazing photos’. ‘I just had to drop you a very quick email to say i’m whizzing through your goooooooorgeous wedding photos and it has to be said, I don’t think I’ve ever seen such beautiful photos- you look absolutely stunning, your dress is fabulous, your hair is brilliant and those shoes!!! and just everything about the wedding looks just so fantastic, I just love the fact you have a huge smile on your face in every photo (I was very much the same on our big day) and everything is so stunning… the flowers, your cake, the table plan and those origami frogs and flowers!!! I’ve only got through about a third of the photos but felt I had to email you instantly!!! so, was it just everything you hoped for and more? i’m really not just saying this but it all just looks so amazingly beautiful, the most amazing looking wedding photos I’ve ever seen, am so pleased for you and can’t wait to hear all about it you little stunner you!!!’ I would not have classed myself as being particularly photogenic but Russell has not only brought out the best in us, he has also brought out the best in our day. As someone else commented, ‘you can feel the essence of your wedding through these pictures’ and I think that sums it up – Russell and Laura captured the moment for us so perfectly we can’t believe we ever considered not having them. We look at the pictures and we’re back there. We would totally and utterly recommend Russell and Laura for a wedding or any photographic work.

We cannot more highly recommend that you book with Russell and Laura. We organise our wedding within 6 weeks and only managed to book Russell and Laura in the last 2 weeks (despite them having another event straight after!). At the time I was living in Kent and getting married at St Audries near Taunton so until the wedding day all communication was over the phone. I felt this may be slightly difficult but was totally happy after speaking with Russ, so booked the next day. It was definitely the right decision as we now have over 600 stunning photographs of our wedding, the difficulty now will be choosing which ones to print. In fact, while looking through the photograph’s for the first time after the wedding, I was a little tearful. The emotion captured in the photographs was fantastic, Russ and Laura had managed to incorporated special parts of our wedding such as the ceremony beautifully and exactly as we had previously discussed.

We had our wedding photos done by Russell How Photography in June 2010. We told Russell  to go wherever he wanted and get as close as he needed to get the shots he thought would portray the wedding best. Even with this brief he was so unobtrusive- I think it can be a worry that the presence of the photographer will be off putting, but far from it! Russ blended in when he needed to, took charge when necessary (without being at all bossy), went with the flow of our very busy day, and was a wonderful addition to have around. The photos we now have to remember this day forever are absolutely stunning, and Laura’s artistic touches in the detail photos are spectacular. We couldn’t be happier with both the experience of having Russ and Laura at our wedding, and with the finished photos we have as a result.

My new husband and I cannot express how much we love our wedding photos. Russell How and his team really did a sterling job from start to finish. The pics are exactly what we wanted; really natural and reportage. We can’t believe how many pictures were taken too, such good value for money. It was lovely having Russell there on our wedding day- I felt totally at ease in front of him (even when I was getting ready and stressing out majorly!) it was like having a friend taking our pictures. I am Brand Manager of a fashion company and part of my job consists of art directing fashion shoots, so when it comes to photography I am probably harder to please than most, but his images really captured people’s personalities and idiosyncrasies which only seems possible for someone whom has known our friends and families for years- Russell obviously has a talent for anthropology and capturing moments in time that really record the beauty of weddings. Superb Photos and Great Value. Truly delighted with our wedding photos. Russell spent a great deal of time before hand understanding exactly what we wanted, from formal shots to reportage.
