We were delighted when Kathy and Jon asked us to photograph their orchard wedding in September in Theale, Somerset because they are quite honestly one of the loveliest couples we have met!!
Girls, girls, girls in the morning, hundreds of them, all invited to the getting ready stage because Kathy wanted everyone to be included. It looked a little like a bomb had gone off in Boots with make-up and hair dryers scattered around like the prettiest of debris! A wonderful celebration of all things girly rose to a crescendo wherein our gorgeous bride was ready to go.
A slightly anxious car ride to Bagley Church discussing the rather moody looking skies and Kathy was ready to make her way down the aisle to her patient and handsome groom. The ceremony was a wonderfully joyous affair with our couple smiling from ear to ear throughout! After a few photo in the church orchard afterwards the congregation made its way to a little gem of an orchard owned by our couple’s good friend Jim (contact details at the bottom of the post if you love it too!) just outside Theale.
The weather didn’t disappoint and the sun shone brightly over the quirky orchard with its old farm equipment and timeworn apple trees. Picnic baskets filled with delicious local produce were scattered around for all to enjoy as well as a huge collection of homemade cakes. Later, after plenty of free flowing local cider the guests gathered to play an array of different games including space hopper racing which was taken a lot more seriously than you might imagine! Finally, the night-time celebrations were initiated with a good old ceilidh knees up with everyone having a jig!
What a treat it was to be a part of such a happy affair! An absolutely huge thanks to Kathy and Jon for letting us share it with you. We wish you great heaps of love and happiness in your future alongside one another!
