Lynsey & Alex | Hill House & St Leonard’s Church Butleigh

hill house shapwick wedding venue

We arrived at Hill House in Shapwick for the morning prep under crystal clear blue skies and freezing winter temperatures with frost crunching under our feet.  The perfect weather for Alex & Lynsey’s winter wedding!  Russ stayed with Alex and his family and friends who were busy making sure everything was ready for the reception later in the day whilst Laura met up with Lynsey and the girls at home.  Both of them were buzzing with excitement and the atmosphere was electric.

A fabulous green vintage bus took Alex and the guests to St. Leonard’s Church near Glastonbury and Russ joined them for some very bumpy photos along the country roads!

The ceremony was full of joy and the church was stunning under candle light – a proper English church wedding.  We had time for a few photos outside the church (including Alex & Lynsey walking out through all their guests who held up sparklers for them!) before heading back to Hill House for the reception.  There was food and drink enough for an army, hilarious and touching speeches, a casino, a surprise proposal(!!!), dancing and laughter all night.

Here’s a few photos from their day which we really hope you enjoy!

I know it sounds silly but I love how you’ve captured the sunlight in this as it looks exactly how I imagine a delicate winter sun. Beautiful wedding xReplyCancel
