Julia & Rupert | Somerset Wedding

Julia & Rupert asked Laura & I to photograph their Somerset church wedding and garden reception in a documentary style.  No posed photos and no inturuptions for the sake of photography.  The perfect brief!  The reception was at Julia’s parent’s beautiful house in  Holcombe.  We knew it well as we shot her brother’s somerset wedding there back in June 2013 so we were very excited to be returning.  Laura and I started at St Paul’s Church in Kilmersdon which was absolutely packed for a very personal and touching ceremony.  Then outside into the September sunshine for confetti and a short drive through country lanes to Holcome in a wonderful vintage car.  The caterers met Julia, Rupert and all the guests with enough canapes to feed a small army (and 2 photographers).  It was pretty much a big party from that point on!  Tons of laughs and endless dancing.  It’s been tough to select photos for this as everyone had such a good time there’s something going on in every photo.  I hope you like what I have chosen anyway which is just a small selection.  Please do get in touch if you’re looking for documentary photographers for your own wedding – I’d love to hear from you.
