Ara & James | Brympton House Wedding
Hidden away down a short narrow drive, just outside of Yeovil in Somerset is the truly magnificent Brympton House; an absolute gem of a wedding venue and one I’ve been working at for many years now. I’d not worked at Brympton since 2019 due to the dreaded Covid lockdown so I was so happy to be back to say hi to the team and get cracking in the sunshine!
Ara and James’s day was split down the middle into two parts basically comprising of two small weddings in the same day. The first was a Hindu ceremony which was filled with colour and scents and surprises. I’ve only shot one Hindu weddings before so it’s brilliant to witness all the different traditions. My favourite part of the ceremony was the Agni Pooja & Mangal Phera where the bride and groom make a commitment to lead a moral, joyous, fruitful, pleasant and productive life and to attain enlightenment. I for one think we Brits could borrow some of those ideals and incorporate them into our own commitments in marriage!
The next part of the day was a well-earned curry (the ceremony was LONG and it was roasting!) before changing into traditionally western clothing for the second part of the day which was the English ceremony in The Coach House. Next there were lawn games and fizz on the South Terrace before I left them to party into the night. I hope you enjoy the photos!
